Well, not much to say on this I guess. I had a cousin of mine contact me via Facebook today. We have sent a couple of messages back and forth, he’s like an internet detective!

Anyways, he sent me this:

Therese Ann Cosgrove Gowan, 78, formerly of Enoree, S.C., died Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center in Fort Walton Beach, Fla.

A native of New Jersey, she was the daughter of James and Anna Boyle Cosgrove. She was predeceased by her husband, Boyce Lee Gowan, in 1997. She was also predeceased by daughters, Martha Ann McComb and Theresa Ann Lemmon of South Bend, Ind.

Mrs. Gowan was a member of Jesus Our Risen Saviour Catholic Church in Spartanburg and served as a member of the Altar Society. Later she was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and past vice president of the Parish Council. She attended the St. Andrew’s Catholic Grammar school in Bayonne, N.J., and graduated from high school with a GED and then went on to graduate from Spartanburg Methodist College in her 59th year. When she died she was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church in Clemson.

She is survived by sons, James D. Gowan and wife, Dianne, of the home, and Boyce Lee Gowan II of Texas; daughters, Frances Gavin and husband, Thomas, of Seneca, Grace Gowan of Enoree, and Margaret Walker and husband, Jerry, of Chesnee; a brother, Daniel Cosgrove of Springfield, Ill.; sisters, Ann Cosgrove of Washington, D.C., and Sister Peggy Cosgrove, MSBT, of Mobile, Ala.; grandchildren, Mark and Angela Gowan of the home, Herbert (Robbie) and Boyce Thompson, Al Lemmon, Boyce Lee Gowan III, Josiah James Gowan, Blair, Billy, Fred and Cindy Fenning, Colleen Barrick, Bryant Gavin-Cruz, Terry, James, Keith and Christopher Redd, Veronica Stephens, Michael, Elizabeth and Timothy Walker, and Dana Shields; and 21 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Andrews Catholic Church, with burial to follow in Heritage Memorial Gardens in Roebuck, S.C. The body is at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central, S.C., where the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Andrews Catholic Church, P.O. Box 112, Clemson, SC 29631.

Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central-Clemson Commons, is assisting the family with arrangements.
